3:00 Rededication Ceremony
Join us as we thank the community and dedicate each classroom
with fresh daisies.
3:45 Community Forum
We will address school planning and discuss how the school is
responding to issues from the parent survey.
4:30 Parent Education
“Early Childhood Education”
Why is there emphasis on daily rhythm in the kindergarten curriculum?
How does the young child learn? What meaning do the stories hold
that are told throughout the grades curriculum? What does a student
gain from Waldorf education in the early grades that reveals itself
in later grades? These questions and more will be answered. Even
if your child is in an upper grade the information gained during
the parent education session can give insight into older children’s
development. Please invite other friends and parents to parent
education. This talk can benefit any parent or childhood development
professional.
The Garden of Lights Festival On Thursday December 14th
... and although it is specifically for the kindergarten, first
and second grades, we will need everyone to help with gathering
the fresh pine boughs for this special, wonderful event. Please
be thinking of where you might find some boughs; either out in
the woods, or at Christmas tree lots, so you can bring some in.
We will need a truck load by the morning of the 14th.
The boughs will be formed into a large spiral on the floor, and
the children take turns walking into the spiral to light their
candle, and walking back out, they place their lit candle among
the boughs. There is gentle harp music throughout the ceremony
and the darkened room becomes brighter and brighter with each
child's light. It is a quiet, inward festival that is a wonder
to behold. Please mark your calendar so you won't miss it. This
year it will be at Mt. Club Clubhouse on the evening of Dec. 14th.
The time for each class' turn and directions to Mt. Club Clubhouse
is to be announced in next week's Tuesday Newsletter.
Thank you, Therese

7th & 8th Grade Trip Raising Funds by Selling Gifts
Our seventh and eighth grade class is very busy making all kinds
of hand made crafts, note cards, holiday wreaths, and Tamales
to sell for funds to raise, so that we can take our year-end class
field trip. Taking a class field trip is something every child
at Mountain Oak school can look forward to when they reach middle
school. Filed trips are not in our school’s budget, and
this year we hope to go on a Green Tortoise Bus trip to Yosemite
National Park, the Shakespeare Festival in Oregon and many other
wonderful parks with interesting eco systems in Northern California
and Oregon.
This Holiday, please consider purchasing handmade items such
as;
Original student artwork note cards
Fairy and gnome tree houses
Wood and rope ladders
Beautiful beaded earrings
Gift Baskets with teas and other delicious foods
Gift certificates to use towards your purchases at the Gateway
Mall
Holiday Wreaths for you or grandma’s front door
Tamales, so you can take a night off from cooking and cleaning
the kitchen
And many other wholesome gifts
Perhaps you may even see us at the Homecoming Celebration on
November 29th. If you want to order a wreath then complete the
form below and give it to Beni in the office or to Miss Sharon
or Miss Regina in the 7th/8th grade classroom.
Thank you for your helping us make our field trip dream a
reality.

If we are a drop of water and we try to get to the ocean as only
an individual drop, we will surely evaporate along the way. To
arrive at the ocean you must go as a river.
