From Principal Cindy Roe
Dear Families of Mountain Oak,
The Festival of Strength and Courage and the Harvest Festival
for the kindergarten is little more than a week away. The class
parent representatives have been using their skills at organizing
the events of the day; set-up, the feast, the games, clean up
and much more. The teachers are very appreciative of all the organizing
these class parent do. There are new games this year. Sharon,
the middle school teacher, and her students have been busy working
to bring a new skill building activity that takes aim and hits
the mark for courage and strength. I hope the parents can join
the festival and watch as the mighty dragon is tamed through the
creative forces of the children of today.
‘May your cup runneth over’ is an old saying that
we bestow upon our loved ones. Who better to bestow it upon than
our children. I am asking that again the parents of Mountain Oak
get behind the forces that will help the ‘cup runneth over’.
I know at times we can throw up our hands and say “Please
not another item to buy or sell”, it can seem like a full
time job just supporting the fund raising efforts through buying,
selling and getting the word out, however it does make a big difference.
I have watched the school grounds change for the better at Mt.
Oak, I have seen teacher’s faces light up when they know
a long awaited, essential element is coming, I have seen the excitement
on the children’s faces at a new sand box area. All these
came through fund raising. Do what you can, and if we all do a
little the benefits to our children are big.
Already in this weeks Tuesday there is mention of ways to support
the school. These fund raisers are the hard work, dedication and
love from the Mountain Oak community. They are parents or friends
who have given of time, materials and energy to devote to all
our children. Please help the school to flourish even more.
Minutes from the Community Forum held this past Saturday for
those of you who could not come will be in next weeks ‘Tuesday’.
If you have questions or comments please come to see me. Friday
mornings from 8:15 until 9:15 is an hour left unscheduled for
‘stop by’ time with me.
Enjoy the last days of summer it turns over on the 21st day of
September to the glory of Autumn.
Sincerely,
Cindy Roe

To wonder at beauty,
Stand guard over truth,
Look up to the noble,
Resolve on the good:
This leadeth us truly,
To purpose in living,
To right in our doing,
To peace in our feeling,
To light in our thinking;
And teaches us trust,
In the working of Creation,
In all that there is,
In the width of the world,
In the depths of the soul.
