From Principal Cindy Roe
Dear Families of Mountain Oak,
Already many families are volunteering at Mt. Oak. I see parents
helping out in the third grade garden. Seventh and eight grade
families have built housing for the lockers. Parents are coming
to committee meetings and work has already happened on campus
beautification. These are but a few examples of the dedication
and commitment from Mt. Oak parents to their child’s education
that I have witnessed in the past three weeks. How does that old
song go? ‘The more we get together the happier will be’
.On that note, attached to this weeks Tuesday is a volunteer form.
Please look it over and find the way you would like to contribute
to your child’s school. If you have already volunteered
or are currently volunteering this year, please fill in the form
stating what you are currently doing. We are coordinating and
organizing the volunteering. In case you have questions, need
help deciding, or have more ideas about volunteering, a follow
up call from a class parent will be coming. Thank you for holding
the well being of the school in your mind. (Thank you, Mia Connelly,
for your work on the volunteer form.)
The responses to the parent survey sent out in last weeks Tuesday
are beginning to come into the office. If you need a survey please
stop by the office and pick one up. These surveys will help Mt.
Oak to prioritize and address issues in the community. I appreciate
your need to respond or not.
I am inspired, as I look out the window and see the 6th grade
engaged and smiling as Mr. Holmes takes the children through a
movement activity that focuses concentration, refines motor skills,
calls on balance and strengthens right movement. Walking by the
1st grade I hear singing voices and see Miss Fransen’s radiant
smile lighting up those blossoming singing voices. It is wonderful
to be surrounded by energized education that engages the whole
child.
Sincerely,
Cindy Roe

Happening
This Week:
To wonder at beauty,
Stand guard over truth,
Look up to the noble,
Resolve on the good:
This leadeth us truly,
To purpose in living,
To right in our doing,
To peace in our feeling,
To light in our thinking;
And teaches us trust,
In the working of Creation,
In all that there is,
In the width of the world,
In the depths of the soul.
