Parent educator and author, Shea Darian, will lead a parenting conference on "Nurturing Everyday Spirituality in the Family" at the Interfaith Unity Church in Mesa on May 20, 2006, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will include a keynote talk, "The Sanctuary of Family Life," and two workshops, "Creating Home as a Haven for the Soul," and "Celebrating Rites of Passage in the 21st Century."
Darian, who has presented talks and workshops to enthusiastic audiences throughout the United States, encourages parents to center spiritual nurturing in the home. To wonder at beauty,
Stand guard over truth,
Look up to the noble,
Resolve on the good:
This leadeth us truly,
To purpose in living,
To right in our doing,
To peace in our feeling,
To light in our thinking;
And teaches us trust,
In the working of Creation,
In all that there is,
In the width of the world,
In the depths of the soul.
