FOURTH GRADE CREATIVE WRITING:
Continuing with our 'Children's Writing Corner', here are some
lovely samples from Mountain Oak Students in Mrs, Saft's 4th Grade
Creative Writing class.
ANIMAL RHYMES
Several, slippery seals swimming swiftly,
Five, furry foxes fishing for famished friends. Real, ridiculous,
red rabbits ran rudely.
Wild, wonderful wolves wandering in the woods. Lots of lazy lions
laughing loudly.
Many, merry mice making midnight music. Seven, silly skunks spied
silver snakes
by Kessie Fleischner
THE SEA OTTER
Sea otters are long.
Their arms are short and strong.
Their hairs are small and thin.
I wonder if they have a grin!
They have a lot of hair.
They take it everywhere.

THE LION
Live a long time
In southern Africa
Open Country
No enemies

Strong Boy Chopping Loudly
Viking Man Sawing Carefully
Good Artist Carving Intricately
Huge Karl Hammering Powerfully

From The Mountain Oak School Board
of Directors
- Mountain Oak School (MOS) Current enrollment is at 165.
The Personnel Committee is currently interviewing candidates
for the First grade teaching position for the 2005–06
school year.
- MOS will know in April whether or not we will be acquiring
the property on Willow Street. There have been meetings with
the city and members of the Board to discuss any improvements
to the property that will be required.
- At the February 7th Board Meeting the existing Governing
Board/Corporate Board acknowledged that they would split the
current functions of the K–8 Mountain Oak School Governing
Board and the Mountain Oak Organization Executive Board. The
K–8 Governing Board will continue to oversee the day to
day functions of Mountain Oak School, including: budget/finances
of the school; policy and procedure; hiring of teachers and
personnel issues; coordinating with the school committees; and
more, as it has done in the past. The Mountain Oak Organization
Executive Board will be responsible for the search/acquisition
and development of the new site, as well as organizing the group
of people who will explore the possibility of starting a Waldorf-based
High school.
- The Mountain Oak Organization Executive Board is currently
in the process of defining its mission and vision statements.
Any inquiries concerning the Executive Board or interest in
being a part of the group that will explore a Waldorf-based
High School should be directed to the Administration Office
or speak with Merrill Badger, Michael Martin, Steve Posey or
DeeAnn Morgan.
- The next Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 8 @
6:00pm. You are welcome to attend.
