Class Teachers: Grade 5 and Grade 7

Mountain Oak School, a public charter school located in the picturesque mile-high city of Prescott, Arizona, is in its 17th year and offers a pre-K to 8 Waldorf curriculum to about 140 children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Four years ago we moved into our own 6-acre site, with beautiful remodeled classrooms, stained glass windows, open fields, playground, and organic learning gardens. We are seeking enthusiastic teachers for our upcoming fifth and seventh grades, preferably with Waldorf training and www.esvonc.org experience, for the Fall of 2015. We also will consider State-credentialed teachers who would be interested in learning Waldorf methods. Our faculty has various degrees of Waldorf training and experience, most with certification. Part-time specialty teachers offer instruction in Spanish language, flute and violin, handwork, woodwork, and movement education. 

Mountain Oak is community-based, and parent volunteers play an integral role in the school. Prescott is renowned for its home-town atmosphere, clean air, mild climate, ponderosa pines, lakes, mountain views, and hiking trails; it is surrounded on all sides by National Forest and is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise, not to mention a great place to raise children. There is a performing arts center, three local colleges, and a weekly farmer’s market, which offers locally grown organic produce. Driving time to Phoenix, Flagstaff, or Sedona is less than 2 hours, and Los Angeles is 7 hours by car. There are local and statewide anthroposophical study groups, conferences, and workshops. 

The candidate we seek must be a team player and committed to bringing education inspired by Waldorf Methods to our students, but also be willing to adhere to our charter-school testing schedule and requirements. We need someone who can grasp our social mission and be inspired by the challenge.
